As an editor, I find someone has a gift...Love this! As an editor, I find someone has a gift for writing dialogue or they don't. It's so important, too, for dialogue not to sound like prose. There's a different rhythm to it. Dialogue is such a great tool to advance story and define characters, if well-written and used appropriately.
