Congrats on the publication Moody. It was interesting how you never put her side in quotes. It felt rather dreamlike through the entire read. Gave me the chills, actually. The abstract, sarcastic voice was intriguing.
The creative world does make you sacrifice, and then live with those consequences, sometimes through regrets. Cool that she was still living the high of success even years later.
This was really engaging moody. I loved it. I have had trouble with my computer or the web today and this is about the third time I've been back to try to comment...now I forget all the things I wanted to say...however, I especially loved the flow of the story. You do great dialogue!
I loved it! The characters had great depth, the writing was hysterical (the "Squirrel shit" line and so many others), and the twist was completely unexpected. Congrats! :-)
Read the story 'The High Cost of Wishing' and just loved it. You have used some wonderful descriptions, Moody.
"Now I’m thinking my shoulders are so covered in spots and freckles they could be a missing clue from The Da Vinci Code. Now I’m thinking my nose looks like a handful of modelling clay someone threw at my face."
Congratulations! I just bookmarked the page so I can read it this weekend. (I could skim now, but I'd rather really read and enjoy it.)
