Yes, actions speak louder than words, in writing as in real life.
I read a post somewhere, not long ago but too long for me to remember where, that took this thought a bit further and pointed out how you could drive conflict through the difference between how characters think of themselves (revealed by what they say) and their actions (which reveal their true nature).
I've read a lot about writing, but this little video reminds me of an important aspect about character that I might not have focused on. I will always remember the glance at the watch and the reach for the poison/salt/chili powder/knife. Thanks. It Just Got Interesting
